All Souls Day

The first single has been released!

I sent it to about 30 stations through !earshot, and Mr. T at CJAM 99.1 Windsor/Detroit played it on his show Positive Amplitude — we danced with literal joy around the kitchen.

I made the reveal on Gander first, then followed it up with a live video from our show at the Carleton on Instagram. Now I just need CBC to catch on too 👀

I've been so excited to share what we've been doing, and it's finally out there. Call your radio station. Make them play it 😉

July 18

I'm not sure I did fix the mailing list after all🙃

But we've got bigger fish to fry right now! Charles is sending the mixes in to be mastered on Tuesday and a week later we'll have our record!

The amount of talent on this record is extraordinary. I'm not going to spoil all the surprises, but lets just say that Charles is on there (!!!) and my brother Dave of course ❤️, but the icing on the cake is we got Andy McDaniel to sing on a couple songs!! I'm a little in love with Andy. His voice makes my heart break.

It's coming out on 10 inch vinyl so if you want one, would you please let me know so that I can press the right number of albums. It'll be available digitally on Kofi for sure, and probably on bandcamp although I'm not sure why I would do that too when I don't have to.

I'm not trying to hide this record. I want everyone to hear it because it is gorgeous. But I don't love the current state of the music industry, so I'm trying to forge my own path. We've gotten this far on our own. Maybe we can make it the rest of the way:) "The rest of the way where?", you might ask. And its a good question. Lets just see where this goes:)

fixed it!

I just spent the whole morning figuring out how to make the mailing list form work. TEE-DEE-OUS! It's done now though. Please sign up if you want to stay in the loop. The record is coming along and I've decided that October 2, 2026 is the release day. It coincides with Bandcamp Friday. Which I think is as good a reason as any...although, I'll tell you that it's also Ghandi's birthday but don't ask me why I know that. Here are some of the images I'd been thinking of using for the cover-no spoiler alert- the cover is none of these:)

the Carleton show

We did it, gang. We played our first show. Let's do it again!

MAY 1 at 8PM at the Carleton in Halifax

Tomorrow night at 8, Jenny & the Tide will play together for the first time, eva!!

I know its not a huge deal. It's one show, opening for some kids from Montreal. And when I'm anxious, that's where I land.

But if I'm honest, it is a huge deal! I have missed this SO much and feel genuinely blessed to have found some phenomenal people to play with and I am buoyed by their contributions. Genuinely, they lift me up.

I am thrilled and terrified but I intend to relish every second:)
See yah tomorrow!

Halifax

Gang, I'm in Halifax to record a new set of songs. I'm procrastinating, and practicing with Dave, who is the ENTIRE rhythm section, and taking walks around the neighbourhood.

Charles is bringing us something new to play with everyday, and setting us up for success and I think I just found my lucky hat!

Now we just breath and have fun.

I CAN NOT wait to share it all with you!

**Don't forget to get your tickets to our show on May 1 at the Carleton** ♥️

our first show

Friends, come see us play on Friday, May 1st at the Carleton in Halifax. We'll be opening for Montreal indipop band, Ivytide. And we can not wait to see you there!

(Tickets likely to go on sale next Tuesday (24th))

Gratitude

This meant so much to me. Thank you, Jay!!

To be included on a list with Clairo and Sterolab!!

Remember the rainbow on Ralf's webcam? This was another one of those.

See the article here.

And if you love music, you will want to follow Jay's youtube channel:)

Ko-Fi

Fiercely independent...you can now get the EP (and all future records) on Ko-fi. Couldn't have been easier to set up...but I won't know if it works until there's activity there:)

Anne Murray and me ♥️

Folks,

I saw Anne Murray at the Rebecca Cohn when I was nine. She threw me a red rose, which I took home and pressed between the pages of our Encyclopedia Britannica.

A few years ago, I asked Chris (who has never said no to me) to help me record a few songs as a Christmas present for my family. He enlisted Gregory (my god, the talent) and Ryan (prayer hands), and together they made this happen.

With the one-year anniversary of Unsuitable approaching, I wanted to offer these recordings to you as a thank you for your support. They're my favorite Anne Murray songs. I hope you won't be too disappointed that “Snowbird” isn't among them :)

Wishing you a winter full of light and joy,

Jenny ♥️

Jenny released Unsuitable in December 2024.

She currently spends her time mastering CMS for this website and preparing songs for a new album to be recorded in March 2026.
